Blowing Chunks.
I’ve always been somewhat of a simple dresser and depend on accessories to make my outfit complete. In particular, big, chunky, blingin’ accessories. I love the idea of a simple torn jeans and white-tee look with huge jewelry. This is what I mean by blowing chunks, chunky makes everything looks great and is so easy to pull off! Here are a couple of my favorite designers who really know how to blow chunks:
Iosselliani:

Check out those chunks! I love iosselliani jewelry because they take feminine jewels and and either chunk them all together or add more masculine details, like skulls, creating a more edgy look that can either dress up or dress down any attire. I love that their crystals are hand carved, giving each jewel a unique look that is unlike the rest. What’s really amazing about this line is that one of the designers, Paolo Giacomelli, is an apprentice in one of the last “botteghe” (Italian for workshop) in Rome where he learns from an actual master artist in the traditional goldsmith techniques. These guys are legit! You can find iosselliani in Barney’s or on their website.

This is a more recent find for me, and is no less legit. Montoya picked up her goldsmith techniques from her Father’s jewelry shop, and she even studied sculpture at USC, legit! Montoya uses beautiful bronze in her line which was inspired by Native American Mythology, tribal themes, and a visit she once took to the Gold Museum in Columbia. She incorporates vintage charms which she attained from Europe and South America, with big chunky chains creating a more casual look that can be incorporated into every day attire, but can also be worn to a night out on the town. Her pieces are also more affordable, ranging from $50-$160 which you can find in a few stores in Southern California including: Carol Young, EM & CO, House of Love and Luck, Mowhawk General Store, Presence Studio City, and Treasury Dept. Indeed, Montoya certainly does know how to blow chunks.
